Baby quilt

I finished this quilt last night. I made it for my niece who had a baby a few weeks ago. It's hard to find cute fabrics for boy quilts. When I saw these fabrics I fell in love with them immediately. I was trying out the Triangle Square Up Ruler from the "Quilt In A Day" series. It made the pinwheel blocks work up so fast and precise! I didn't have a pattern -- just made it up as I went. This is the second one I made -- I love it so much that I couldn't do just one.

Time to blog

I've been thinking of blogging for a while now. I really enjoy reading blogs by my daughter, sister, niece, and other bloggers out there. I don't know that I can be as creative, but here it goes.....

I love to quilt. I joke that I do it for my sanity, but that is the truth. It keeps me sane. How is it that cutting fabric up into pieces and then sewing it all back together again can feel so good? I love the look when it all comes together -- the natural cotton sandwiched between the top and bottom, and the machine quilting all done. I work from home doing transcription. My office is also my sewing room. There are days when I think I'll punch out and just sew for a few minutes......bad mistake. I have to keep reminding myself that I type to support my quilting habit!
