Tracy' Quilt

I got some machine quilting done -- yeah! This is my sister's quilt. I love the colors and the pattern she used. It was really a fun one to quilt. There were 99 flowers by the time I was done.
I think the back is such a cute piece of fabric. Tracy did a wonderful job piecing this one together. It's definitely one of my favorites!
And then time for a little playing around. Gary, Jaycee, and I went 4-wheeling today. It was a blast. Jaycee had a little too much fun in the puddles -- and so did I. When we were almost back to the truck I saw a big mud puddle in the middle of the road. I thought, what the heck, and hit the gas. Muddy water shot up everywhere and all over me. Jaycee was behind me and did the same thing. We all got a good laugh out of it.

This Jaycee and her muddy machine.
The last of the spring runoff is still coming down. The water was fast and high still, but sounded so cool.
This is where we usually cross the river to go up to the reservoir. Gary was going to try and cross but it was too deep. He's showing us how deep it is in the middle.

It was a relaxing ride. I kept breathing deep, loving the smell of pine, leaves, water, and dirt (never knew dirt could smell good!).
Dead, thank goodness!

Quick post

It's been a long week for me. I haven't been feeling very good, achy and miserable. Don't know if it's my fibromyalgia acting up or what. I did get 9 blocks for the baby quilt done though. This weekend I plan to do the tractors if I have time. I also need to catch up on my blogging friends and see what they've been up to.
When I went to take a shower last night the tub was lined with a dozen or so rubber ducks. We had Eden overnight while her parents went to the Dane Cook concert -- and she loves to bath with the ducks. I miss the days when my kids were little and bath toys used to be around.I tried to get a picture of her "silky nighty." It's her favorite, and it's getting a little worn, but she won't give it up. I'm the same -- love to sleep in my silky too!

As close to quilting.....

This is as close to quilting as I have been able to do this week. I tried to arrange fat quarters to cut out this Buggy Barn truck/tractor quilt for Jamie. I don't know where my time has been going -- besides working. So frustrating. I just want to shut myself in my sewing room and sew. Ahhhh....maybe next week.
I finished up some burp clothes that I've had cut out for months. They are flannel/chenille, so soft.
This is the quilt I made for my niece, Tiffany. She had a baby boy last month. My sister, Dena, is in town from Vegas this weekend with my nieces Tiffany, Sandy, and their kids. I'm excited to get to visit with them tomorrow and see the new baby.

Spring at last....I hope.

I love the blossoms on our apple tree. We have two trees in the backyard, one covered with blossoms and the other with only a handful of flowers. It has been the same for the last few years. Do trees go through menopause??
The lilac bushes are starting to bloom too. It smells so good in the backyard.

The chickens continue to grow. We named them Izzy and Ava. They really do have personalities. I wasn't expecting that. They love it when we let them out to run around on the grass. Gary and Jaycee built this cage a few weeks ago. We still have them in the garage most of the time since it has been cold at night. We still need to build a bigger area for them that's all caged in.
And now the important stuff -- quilting. I haven't had time to sew much lately. Here's the finished baby quilt. Kind of a bad picture -- but I was too lazy to retake it. I went in my sewing room to sew last night and was distracted by the thread and fabric scraps all over the floor. I had to vacuum and clean before I could create. Then I didn't have time to do much. Oh well.....at least my room is clean.

Purse Quilt

This is my latest project. I had planned to get a lot of sewing done today -- but that didn't happen. I did get 10 blocks done and used 9 of them to make a baby sized quilt. I've got it on the quilting machine and plan on getting is done this weekend. The fabrics are the Moda line with the shoes. I think it's called Objects of Desire. I love the florals -- so cute.
A sign of spring -- Yeah! Gary got the trailer out and parked it in the backyard so we can get it unwinterized, cleaned, packed, and ready to go. Hopefully we'll use it a lot this summer.
My Las Vegas cousins Tonya & Pam, and Pam's daughter Krystal were in town this week for Women's Conference at BYU. Last night my mom, sisters, and I met them for dinner. Then we went to Mom's, played a game, and talked. It was so good to see them. Can't wait for the family reunion this summer to see them again and play games -- I'm sitting by Krystal again so we can cheat - ha ha!!
