Sunday Morning Breakfast...mmmmm!

This is what I call "Hippie Bread" because the wrapper reminds me of the 1960's Love & Peace era. It's really good old fashioned white bread...the kind where each slice weighs a pound!

Lightly toasted and slathered with real butter (didn't say this was low-cal).

Bacon fried up in a pan. Have to blame this on Eden. She slept over last night and wanted Poppa to make her bacon for breakfast.
Then real fresh eggs. Went out and gathered 3 of them this morning from the hen house. Doesn't get any fresher than that!

Winter Morning

It was soooo windy the last couple of days. It blew in a nice winter storm for us. It was so pretty to look out the window and see the covered trees that I really can't complain about the snow. It's been slow at work -- which is a bad thing when you work from home. You don't get paid to sit there, so I've been trying to get some more quilting done. Good plan gone wrong.

I'm terribly embarrassed to admit to my new addictions. Dog The Bounty Hunter! Previous to this I had no interest whatsoever in that show. I sat down to sew one day and it was on... and I couldn't find the remote, so just watched it for a bit......and before I knew it I was hooked. I'm impressed with the advice they give when they arrest people to find God in their lives. Good advice to all of us. My other addiction is a computer video game. Argg! I hate wasting time when I could be sewing!

I remember when I was in high school there was a lady in our neighborhood who was a single mom and not a very good housekeeper (horrible in fact). The ladies in our church would go over and try to help her out and teach her to clean. My mom came home one day, shaking her head in disbelief. She said the lady would play a housecleaning game. She would clean for 30-45 minutes and then she was done for the day! Why am I bringing this up? I'm guilty of playing the housecleaning game lately! Like this morning I decided I had to clean the upstairs bathrooms and do 2 loads of laundry before I could sew (I should be working...but no work this morning). My house is usually really clean.....but I just let sewing get in the way of the bathrooms and other not so fun chores. Maybe the cleaning game is not so bad for me after all.
I did put on some flannel yesterday and tried a few new stitches and played around with the quilting machine.
I've been doodling this one (above) for a few weeks. I saw it in a quilting magazine. It would be good for a border.

I tried these flowers from Polka Dot Pineapple this weekend. Kind of a fun way to make spring come early! She has some other fun ideas and projects on her blog. Go check them out. I got one of Tracy's quilts done. I love the fabrics...from Riley Blake Designs.
This weekend went by really fast. My friend, Becky, and went shopping to a few stores. There's a new Win-Co grocery store in Salt Lake that we like to go to. They really have some good deals...and it's such a big store that it really gives you a good walk . I was exhausted by the end of our day trip to Salt Lake....but it was so much fun. We really talked nonstop the whole time. Girlfriends are the best therapists!
It's been a rough month or so for me.....haven't felt like doing much and nothing I really wanted to blog about. Just some things going on that were stressing me out a bit...and just making the day-to-day things harder to get through. Sometimes life just gets you down. I found a quote I really like: "If you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn't lead anywhere." (Frank A. Clark) Made me realize that maybe I'm really going somewhere after all!!

Two new babies -- PINK and BLUE!

The pink one belongs to my daughter, Jodi. I got to go with her today to the ultrasound. It was so awesome to see the baby moving around -- the spine, fingers, head, etc. Everything looks perfect....and it's a GIRL!! (I would be happy either way). Jodi pointed out to me that this little bundle of pink is our 6th grandbaby and is due the 6th day of the 6th month. Does that mean she's going to be a feisty little demon??
I was too lazy to hook up my old printer which has the scanner, but these pictures turned out pretty good.

Now the the BLUE baby. We got a new car yesterday. Totally unplanned. My car was acting up and had to go in for repairs. They let us test drive this over the New Year's Holiday and we absolutely loved it. It's an Eddy Bauer Explorer. We had an Explorer before and I've always wanted another one, so it was an easy decision.
It has heated seats, and lots of extras that we haven't figured out how to use yet. I love that it tells you how many miles you can go until empty! (We won't mention how many times I've run out of gas). It's easy to get in and out of for this old lady too.
