Fall Family Party

A few weeks ago we had a family party.  It was fun to get everyone together for crafts and food.  I loved the T-shirts they made at the Orme Family Reunion this summer and thought it would be fun to make some Halloween shirts with our family.
Jack is making a skeleton shirt with his dad.
We were hoping for warm weather, but it was a little chilly....so we ended up painting them in the garage instead of backyard.
Jodi and Katelynn (above) and Brandon (below).  First you twisted the shirt and sprayed it to make it look tie-dyed.  Then picked a stencil and sprayed on your design.  You just use regular spray paint.  We all had a blast making shirts!!

The second craft was Marshmallow Guns that Pappa made.  He sprayed them black and then we used a sponge and paint to make them look chamo.  Eden is having fun painting hers.
And then we had dinner.  Sloppy Joes, hot dogs, salads, chips, etc.  Jared made an apple and a peach pie.  I didn't get a picture of them, but they were so delicious.  That's going to be his assignment for every family party from now on.  Yummy!!  Katelynn has been wiping her food in her hair lately.  Funny little girl.
BrookLynn poses every time you get your camera out.  Then she wants to see the pictures of her.  I get a kick out of her doing it.  What a cutie!

Miss Jayda is wearing purple!  This girl loves anything to do with pink, purple, or Barbies.
Jack putting all his energy into shooting marshmallows.  He'd giggle every time he shot one.
Jaycee's painted hands.  I had gloves for us to wear, but we all forgot to use them.  Thankfully the paint eventually wears off.
Jonny made this cool shirt.  We all had so much fun.  Darren and Keaton were going to come but ended up not being able to make it.  I'm thinking this Fall Party will be an annual event from now on.  I loved being with all my family for an afternoon of fun and visiting.

It's Official

I hate to admit it.......but it's true.  I've turned into my Mother!

This is a typical dinner that mom would have made for us when we were growing up.  My sister, Nann, brought us some new red potatoes.  Since then I've been craving potatoes and peas in a cream sauce with fried hamburger patties.  So that's what I made tonight.  YUM!

Things have changed around our house as far as work.  I didn't last long at my second job.  I just couldn't do it.  It was too hard to sit there so long and type and go without sleep.  It made me feel horrible and my fibromyalgia act up.  I know, I'm a wuss (however you spell it?).  I feel awesome again now that I'm only working 40 hours a week.  Gary just started a part-time job this week.  So now he is the one who is sleep deprived and working nonstop.  I feel bad for him.  I've been trying to keep up on the laundry and dishes.  I'm even enjoying housework again (for the most part).

A Fall Ride

Last Saturday we went up Spanish Fork Canyon and rode up to Starvation Canyon.  I've never been there....it's really a pretty ride.  We went with Gary's parents and his brother again.
We stopped at this fork in the road so my father-in-law could look at his map.  It was a beautiful day for a ride!
There wasn't much red up this canyon, but the greens and yellows were so pretty.
We stopped at a campground for lunch.  I got so EXCITED to see this outhouse.....so much better than a bush or tree.

Gary and Dave.  I'm not sure what kind of machine Dave has, but it goes everywhere!  Pretty sure I'm too chicken to ride in it.
Some dark clouds came over us and gave us a little rain, not bad.  I thought about getting my rain poncho out, but then it quit.  Yay!
I thought these were rocks on the hillside.  (Yes, I need to get an eye exam.)  Tons of sheep everywhere enjoying an afternoon nap.  We did see 1 black sheep.....haha!
There were lots of beaver dams in this stream.  Wish we could have seen some beavers.  Maybe next time.
There's part of the trail that is switchbacks.  Really fun to ride.  I should have stopped or a picture.  This is on top of the hill looking back down at a sheep camp.  There are days that I think it would be nice to be out there in the mountains in a simple camp with no phone.
This was really a great ride, one that will be on the list of favorites.  I think we went 36 miles this time.  I love that we can get out and see more of Utah.
